4Heroes Equine Therapy would not be here without the help of our community! If you want to make a direct impact on the life of a veteran we would love to welcome you to the farm to help us. We are constantly in need of help building and maintaining the farm to ensure our horses and their riders are living their best lives. There are just two of us working here each day, caring for the horses and maintaining the property, and it's impossible for us to get those bigger projects done by ourselves.
Our volunteer coordinator Michelle Ferry organizes volunteer days when we work on larger tasks around the farm, like fencing and cleaning up new areas for use. When we bought the property it was abandoned for nearly a decade. Everywhere in use today, like the horse fields and riding arena, was completely overgrown. Its taken a lot of help from our community volunteers to get us to where we are today, and we are still only utilizing about half of our eleven acres.
I am in awe each time Michelle brings in a group of willing people to help 4Heroes Equine Therapy. Each project that takes them just a few short hours on a Saturday would take the two of us all week with nothing else getting done. We also welcome individuals and smaller groups on a daily basis to complete smaller projects around the barn. Many hands make light work and we are eternally grateful for all the help that is offered to us!
